Windage: You be the judge.
 |
|
On Monday, we told you about one of The Good golf vacation products we saw at the recent PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. Now, lets move on to The Bad.
Its called Windage, and we saw it while browsing the shows New Product Center, a maze-like area with unmanned, tabletop displays that are a stark contrast to the expensive and elaborate showrooms that now constitute most booths.
Windage is a plastic, golf-ball shaped container that, when squeezed, emits a visible puff of environmentally friendly powder that you can use to judge wind speed and direction. Not a bad idea, in and of itself, particularly when youre on a golf vacation and can use all the shot information you can get.
So, when we label this product as bad, we dont mean to imply that it doesnt work. Were sure it does. But, were guessing that demand for this doodad will be, well, less than good.
The main problem is that theres an existing invention that does the exact same thing. Its called grass.
