Oyster Bay: one of Legends' special courses on summer special.
 |
|
Last summer, when Golf Odyssey visited several Myrtle Beach golf courses, we discovered some great seasonal, discount rates at Legends Resorts that you may want to consider for your own Myrtle Beach golf vacation.
From May 21 through September 5, the resort will be offering rounds of golf at its courses: Tom Doaks Heathland, P.B. Dyes Moorland and the Parkland at the Legends complex, as well as the Heritage Club and Oyster Bay for only $58. Thats nearly half off the high-season rate of $108.
Why so generous? Well, taking a Myrtle Beach golf vacation in summer is not for the faint of heart
or heat to be more to the point. The average daily temperatures bounce between the mid-80s and low 90s. If you dont mind a little sweat on your brow, however, you'll think you found one of the best kept secrets in golf.
We played the TPC, Heritage, and Heathland, all three of which are considered in the top 15 off all Myrtle Beach golf courses. And while this great rate no longer includes the Tom Fazio-designed TPC course, its possible Legends will still discount it significantly along with the Love, Dye, Norman and Fazio courses at its affiliated Barefoot Resort nearby (the rates hadnt been released yet when we inquired today).
Even without the TPC and Barefoot courses, the Legends lineup is top-notch and varied. Just be sure to consider the type of course and its location when contemplating which to select for your discount Myrtle Beach golf vacation. The Heritage Club in Pawleys Island, for instance, is the farthest south from the center of Myrtle Beach, while Oyster Bay is the farthest north. At Legends itself, Doaks Heathland is a straightforward, links-style course, while the Moorland course is more outlandish and challenging.
To find out more about discount golf vacations in Myrtle Beach, you could check the Legends website, but we found that its human being-manned reservations line (800-299-6187) is faster, easier, and often more up-to-date.
