Don't wing it: Go to Wild Wing Cafe for the best Buffalo.
 |
|
We're normally not huge fans of chain restaurants, but when one offers more than 30 varieties of chicken wings (a delicacy near and dear to our hearts), we're willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Plus, the Wild Wing Café in Hilton Head, S.C., located toward the southern end of the island, is the companys original restaurant. It opened in 1990 and has since, ahem, spread its wings into about 25 more, mainly in the southeast where good eatin is practically a religion.
They dont make the best chicken wings we've ever tasted (we like 'em a little crispier) but theyre fantastic. And, for sheer variety and ambiance its basically a sports bar on steroids, featuring regular drink specials and live music its the best place to get sauce on your face during a Hilton Head golf vacation.
In addition to heat levels that range from mild to insane, Wild Wing Café mixes and matches Asian, Caribbean, Tex-Mex, barbeque, and Cajun flavors to concoct some very imaginative and tasty sauces.
Be sure to call the restaurant at the start of your Hilton Head golf vacation (843-785-9464) as there are often free wings specials running throughout the week.
